Abstract

With the development of laparoscopic surgery, many complications have been reported. Rarely, a trocar site hernia may occur after laparoscopic surgery. If this occurs, additional surgery, such as an enterectomy, may be necessary. We experienced a case of a trocar site hernia after a laparoscopy- assisted total vaginal hysterectomy. In this case, we had to perform an enterectomy because of the delayed diagnosis. Intestinal obstruction after laparoscopic surgery is not a common complication, but might result at the location of the trocar site hernia. Therefore, it is necessary to determine an early diagnosis and begin prompt treatment.
